  1. My wife of 1 month has just started beating me and I feel it is not going to stop. Please help! I feel like I am not a man if I don’t hit back.

  2. I am so sorry to hear this! You don’t deserve the abuse you’re receiving. And it does not make you less of a man in any way, despite what anyone might say.
You definitely have options. There are actually quite a few resources out there for men in situations like yours. It’s not uncommon. Assuming you’re in the States, you could try the Domestic Abuse Hotline (1-888-743-5754) or the National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-SAFE). It’s confidential and they could direct you to local help.
Also, the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence provides a list of contacts for each state – you could find a local hotline. http://www.ncadv.org/resources/StateCoalitionList.php
Ultimately, if you feel you are in immediate danger, call the police and/or leave. Have a plan for the next time she acts out…whether that’s to call someone, leave the house, etc. Keep yourself safe. If you’re comfortable, let a close friend or family member know what’s going on and have them as an emergency contact person in case you need help fast.
Depending on your situation, you might want to keep your internet history cleared or just be sure you are using a safe computer.
Be safe! I will be praying that you are able to find help and genuine support quickly.
