In the United States alone, at least 2 men become victims of domestic violence every minute.
That’s over 100 men in one hour, on average. And that is likely a conservative estimate.
There is not one form of abuse which is gender-specific. Women AND men suffer from physical, sexual, verbal, and psychological abuse. Abuse does not make you less of a person – it reflects the abuser, not the abused.
Sadly, resources specific to male survivors of physical violence can be difficult to find. Only recently have people begun to realize what a serious danger domestic violence has become to men.
If you are in danger, faulty stigma does not matter. You deserve to be safe and to find support.
